Bloomberg to veto bat ban

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has just announced he'll veto the metal bat ban passed by the city council. As I pointed out two posts ago, he should do so because there's no evidence the bats are unsafe.

However, Bloomberg didn't opine on that question. He said it wasn't the government's business either way.

"I don't know whether aluminum bats are more dangerous or less dangerous," Bloomberg said. "But I don't think it's the city's business to regulate that."
Looks like the council might have enough votes to override.
