Gifted writer passes away

Dean Barnett died today of cystic fibrosis at the age of 41. He was one of the best writers on the internet. I discovered him a couple of years ago and exchanged emails a few times. He wrote with an amazing clarity and optimistic introspection about his illness and joyfully about politics and baseball. I'd recommend perusing those writings at his original blog, Soxblog. He later wrote for Hugh Hewitt's blog and for the Weekly Standard. May he rest in peace.
